Lucy Westlake is an American mountaineer and athlete, who broke several records being the youngest woman to climb the highest mountains in the World. At age 18 she stood on top of Mount Everest.
Her mission is to become the youngest person to complete the Explorers Grant Slam - climbing the 7 highest summit on each continent and reaching the North and South Pole.
Lucy lives in Los Angeles where she is studying at the University of Southern California where she is a Track and Cross Country athlete.
Lucy is an activist for safe access to water.

Together with Mingma Chhiring Sherpa, Lucy climbed K2, who after being hit by an avalanche aborted the summit attempt and descended.

Lucy broke the Mount Everest summit record, reaching the peak at 18 years, 6 months, and 8 days old, accompanied by Mingma Chhiring Sherpa, just 25 days after starting her expedition.
On Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 5:36 a.m., Lucy successfully conquered the peak of Mount Everest. Prior to this achievement, the record was held by Samantha Larson from Long Beach, California, who reached the summit on May 16, 2007, at the age of 18 years, 7 months, and 9 days. Lucy, at the age of 18 years, 6 months, and 8 days, surpassed this record by approximately a month. Embarking on her expedition on April 18, Westlake remarkably reached the summit just 25 days later, a notable accomplishment given the usual timeframe of 45 to 60 days for an Everest ascent. Accompanying Lucy on this journey was Mingma Chhiring Sherpa.
